Honorary Wildlife Warden of Bellary district in 1997-2000 and 2002-05,Governing council member, Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK) 2002-05, Research coordinator and advisor, Wildlife SOS-New Delhi, President, North Karnataka Birders Network (NKBN),Member, Indian Birds Conservation Network (IBCN),Co-convener, INTACH-Hampi-Anegundi Chapter.
Samad played a vital role in prevention of Ritual hunting in Hampi vicinity-from 2001 to 2014. No incident of ritual hunting for last 6 years.Identified the bear charmers and played vital role in eradication of dancing bears in Karnataka and South India by Wildlife SOS and respective forest departments. Rescued more than 10 bear cubs from poachers and sent to rescue center with the help of forest department. .Initiated the hobby of bird watching in Bellary district since 2000 AD and documented more than 230 species of birds in Hampi vicinity.Rediscovered Great Indian Bustards in remote corners of Bellary and Koppal districts in 2006 and still documenting their movements. Discovered 16 Long billed Vultures in North Karnataka and breeding population.Identified rare flora and fauna in Sandur hill ranges where rampant mining is going on. Currently pursuing PhD on “Ecology of Sloth bears in Bellary dist” from Dept of Wildlife and Management, Kuvempu University, Shimoga. He is also the author for BIRDS OF HAMPI- a pocket guide.
